Orientation Schedule
New Teaching Scholar Applicants
To attend the Spring 2010 New Teaching Scholars Workshops:
- You must fill out an application in 1A - 207 with Ivin Doctor and be accepted into the Discovery Institute's Teaching Scholars Program.
Ivin Doctor's office hours are Monday - Thursday, 9:15 AM - 4:00 PM through December 18th, returning on January 25th, to Rm. 207 Building 1A.
If he isn't in, you can fill out a Teaching Scholar application in 1A - 211.
- As soon as you register for Spring 2010 classes, call me at (718)-982-2728 to make a second appointment and we will try to figure out days and hours you would want to work. As you set up your program to see if you can get a day off without classes. Remember that the schools that you would be working in are usually open between 7:30AM and 3:00PM Monday - Friday, and that I.S. 49 also has afterschool centers that meet 3:00PM-6:00PM and 3:00PM-5:00PM on the same days.
Requirements:
- Students who have filled out applications and have been accepted as new
teaching scholars for the Spring 2010 Teaching Scholars Program,
must attend all
four workshops listed below to be a part of the program.
